About Me

Hi, I’m Laura – a photographer with an eye for detail and a love for the outdoors.
Photography became a natural part of my life as I began noticing the quiet beauty in everyday moments — the way light shifts, the colours that dance at sunrise, and the calm that settles at dusk. Capturing these scenes helps me preserve the feelings they evoke, and share them with others.

What Inspires My Photography

My creativity is shaped deeply by my grandad, William Snow, a much‑loved local artist who moved to Shrewsbury in 1962. He spent decades painting the town’s character with patience and attention to detail — He was often seen sat at his easel capturing the places he admired most.

As my passion for photography grew, so did my appreciation of his work. I began to understand the way he slowed down, really looked at the world, and found meaning in the places he painted. His artistic legacy has become a meaningful part of my own journey, influencing how I photograph scenes we both hold dear.

One of his most recognisable paintings, “The Ploughboy,” hung proudly for many decades in the Ploughboy Café in Mardol, Shrewsbury and became a familiar sight to those who visited.

A Creative Legacy I'm Proud to Carry Forward

To honour his influence, I have included a selection of images below that reflect our shared artistic connection — a portrait of my grandad, a rare photograph of him painting "the old Co-Op building in Frankwell, Shrewsbury", one of his original artworks of "Bear Steps" Shrewsbury, and my own modern photograph of the same location. Together, they tell a small part of our creative story across generations

This section is my tribute to him — a gentle reminder of the shared thread that ties our creative paths together.

My Love for the Outdoors

I’ve always found joy in the natural world — the open spaces, the shifting seasons, and the daily rhythm of light. I’m forever chasing the new beginning of a sunrise and the peaceful ending of a sunset.
These quiet moments outdoors inspire me to create images that feel calm and atmospheric, capturing the essence of each moment.

It is in these moments — whilst behind the camera in nature — that I feel most connected to my craft.
